October, 2018

About once every couple of years I get to do a concert with my friend of over two decades, Hanneke Cassel, who is an amazing fiddler, composer, and arranger, and who travels around the world inspiring audiences with her musical mastery and her infectious joyful spirit. This month she is coming down to play two events with me -- a Mostly Waltz in Broomall, PA (outside Philly) on Sunday afternoon, Oct 28; and a concert for the Institute of Musical Traditions on Monday, Oct 29 in Rockville, MD (outside DC). These are not to be missed!

As a second treat for me, Scottish fiddler James MacQueen is coming out from Ohio two weekends later, and we'll be doing a couple of dances Nov 9-10 and a house concert in the Philly / northern Delaware area.

Mixing is progressing on my long-overdue recording of some of my waltzes. Long-time colleagues Alexander Mitchell, Paul Oorts, and Ralph Gordon (The Gigmeisters) are collaborating with me on this, and we're getting lots of assistance from Jamie Platt, who commissioned all of these waltzes from me over the past decade. We are hoping to finish mixing and get it mastered in the next few months, so keep a look out.
